South African Embassy Renovation and Expansion

RHI, as part of a design team, worked to renovate an existing site around a new addition to the South African Embassy in Washington D.C. The newly designed space includes a vehicular drop off as well as a courtyard connecting the two spaces which reflects the contemporary architecture of the new residence as well as respecting the traditional forms of the existing structure. The courtyard includes a focal glass sculpture and exotic style plantings carefully selected to withstand the conditions of the region.
