Reservoir Park: A Historic Site Reimagined
We’re excited to share the transformation of Reservoir Park (formerly the McMillan Sand Filtration Site) in Washington, D.C.; a bold project that brings together historic preservation, sustainable design, and vibrant public space. The newly opened park and community center reclaim this long-dormant industrial site with features like bioretention gardens, permeable paving, preserved historic columns, and programmable splash pads. Terraced landscaping, recovered monuments, and native planting restore character while enhancing the neighborhood. Dive into the full story and design details in Landscape Architect’s recent feature.
