Branch Brook Park

Branch Brook Park in Essex County, has been the ‘back yard’ of Newark residents since its development begun in 1898.  Listed on both the State of New Jersey and National Registers of Historic Places, the park was designed in 1901 by the Olmsted Brothers firm. RHI’s long term involvement in the restoration and renovation of this iconic park has included more than 20 specific projects that have respected and built upon the famous Olmsted design. Project highlights include the restoration vision for the park, restoration of the Karl Bitter Lions sculptures, woodland and lake edge restoration and restoration and expansion of the parks collection of Japanese flowering cherry trees.
